“My hair can tell a story and hold memories of the day.”

“When people see my hair, they will either give me a compliment or bring bad vibes,” says junior Jafarious Bagley as he describes how people react to his hair. “Sensational” is one word he uses to describe his hair. He has long, curly, soft, brown hair with dyed ends.

He usually styles his hair in an Afro or two puffballs. He uses Shea Moisture and coconut oil to keep his hair growing strong and long. His future plans are to keep growing his hair into his old age , adding more color with different styles.

Bagley is a smorgasbord (Black Foot Indian, West Indies and Polynesian). He believes his hair comes from tradition, stating, “my father and mother have good hair, and they got it from their parents. I believe good hair just passes down.” His mother serves as his hair guru. His tip for anyone wanting show stopping hair like him is to “make your own style and be you; no one can ever tell you something you like is ugly; it is okay to be unique.”
