Warriors Review

The newest edition to the “Warriors” series, “Dawn of the Clans,” was recently released by Erin Hunter in 2014. “Dawn of the Clans” followed the journey of cats from a mountain tribe, who travelled away from their mountain with hopes to find a new home with better living conditions, leading into the creation of the Warrior clans.

“Dawn of the Clans” leads up to the other “Warriors” books, where the story shifted to focus on a cat named Rusty, in a more modern time. In this story, Rusty ventured from his human home and found the Warrior clans in the forest, who allowed him to join their ranks after some negotiation, renaming him to Firepaw.

The “Warriors” series leaves readers wanting more after every book, and, thankfully, Erin Hunter has provided just that, with over sixty books in five subseries and around twenty super editions, eBooks, and guides to the “Warriors” world.

Overall, it’s a good, relevantly never ending series, and a must read for cat lovers.

Brotherband Review

Companion to the “Ranger’s Apprentice” series, “Brotherband” brings a new twist to the common medieval theme. In John Flanagan’s newest series, he brought vikings and mixed them into the typical medieval theme.

This series follows a young, scrawny viking named Hal, who wants to prove that he can be a sea-ruling viking like his peers.

“Brotherband” brings the reader through exciting adventures and suspenseful battles, while leaving room for mystery in-between. A good book for your next read, if you plan on getting emotionally attached to another book, that is.
